The Update | Hopewell, Millennial Theaters Unveil 2023-24 Season
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The 2023-24 season at Hopewell Theatre, which includes shows by its tenant, Millennial Theatre Company, will include the musicals “Sweeney Todd,” “Cabaret” and four other titles.
Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays. The theater is at 702 Mahoning Ave.

The Tenors Vocal Group Coming to Robins
WARREN, Ohio – The Tenors vocal group will come to the Robins Theatre on Sunday, Nov. 12, for a 7 p.m. concert.
Tickets range from $69 to $29 (plus applicable fees) and will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, at robinstheatre.com and the box office, 160 E. Market St. A presale for members of Friends of the Robins Theatre will start at 10 a.m. Thursday.
With distinctive harmonies, the act reimagines hit songs and blends classical music, contemporary pop, classic rock, folk and original songs.
Paisley House Fundraiser Seeks Donors
BOARDMAN, Ohio – Rock the Ages, a fundraiser event for Paisley House and Senior Support Action Group, will take place Saturday, Sept. 23, at DeBartolo Commons at Southern Park Mall.
Hours are noon to 6 p.m.
The event will include bocce, a longest drive contest, a basket raffle, vendors, music, food and drink.

Theater Sets ‘Margaritaville’ Auditions
WARREN, Ohio – Kent Trumbull Theatre will hold auditions for its November production of “Escape to Margaritaville” on Aug. 29 and 30, from 6 to 9 p.m.

Auditionees must come prepared with about a minute of music that showcases their voice and abilities. Something in the realm of ’70s or ’80’s rock or country is preferred, or anything from the Jimmy Buffett catalog. Also be prepared to move and execute choreography.
Readings from the script will comprise the acting portion. Auditionees do not need to be a student. All roles are open to the public.
Cirque Musica Coming to Packard Hall
WARREN, Ohio – Cirque Musica, a holiday show, will come to Packard Music Hall on Dec. 17.
Tickets range from $96.50 to $42 (plus applicable fees) and will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, at ticketmaster.com and the Packard box office. An online only presale will take place from 10 a.m. Tuesday to 10 p.m. Thursday; use the password PACKARD.
The show includes acrobats, aerialists and plenty of hijinks, set to classic holiday music.
Hotworx Fitness Center Will Open This Year
BOARDMAN, Ohio – Hotworx fitness center will open this fall in Tiffany Crossings Plaza.
A lease has been signed and construction will soon begin on a space in the plaza.
Adrienne Handel is the owner of the local franchise, which will be the first Hotworx in the Mahoning Valley.
The 1,600-square-foot fitness studio will be outfitted with seven infrared saunas offering isometric workouts and other exercises, FX zone and an array of fitness retail items.
Hotworx is a 24-hour Infrared Fitness Studio franchise. There are more than 500 worldwide. It sets itself apart from other fitness studios with its 3D training method combining heat, infrared energy and exercise.
All Hotworx workouts are taught by a virtual instructor enabling members to book workouts 24/7 through the app.

NAACP Event with Seafood Boil, Art Auction
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The NAACP Youngstown/Mahoning County will hold a scholarship fundraising event titled “Cruizn’ into Fall” on Sunday, Sept. 24, from noon to 7 p.m. at DOPE Cider House, 460 E. Federal St., downtown.
The beach-themed event will feature live music, a classic car show and an art auction. Violinist Jerald Daemyon will be the featured musical guest, with a special R&B guest performer.
The car show will feature local car clubs Royal Rides and the B.O.P Club.
Works of art by artist Maple Turner will be auctioned. Guests will be treated to a Southern-style seafood boil.
