The Update | Improv Comedy Show Based on ‘A Christmas Carol’

COLUMBIANA, Ohio – The local improv comedy troupe Double I will present the family-friendly production “An Impromptu Christmas Carol” this weekend at the Best Western Plus Dutch Haus Inn.

The shows will be at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 6-7.

“An Impromptu Christmas Carol” is a partly scripted, partly improvised retelling of Dickens’ classic story.

Much of what will happen on stage by the eight-person cast will be determined by suggestions from the audience, making each performance unique.

Before the show begins, audience members will be asked 35 questions that will determine how that evening’s show will be presented. Based on the suggestions, Scrooge’s business might be a gymnastic school; Tiny Tim’s affliction might be athlete’s foot; and the Ghost of Christmas Past might be Julius Caesar.

Tickets are $17 for one show or $30 for both nights and can be purchased at the door or in advance HERE.

Eight local amateur actors make up the troupe.

Double I is part of Indigo Family Theater, a nonprofit organization that offers wholesome plays, musicals, improv and other avenues of entertainment.
