The Update | Jones for Revival at Westside Bowl; ‘Becky’s New Car’ at Hopewell Theatre
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The fifth annual Big Lebrewski Fest, featuring Jones for Revival and some special brews, will return to Westside Bowl, 2617 Mahoning Ave., this weekend.
The highlight will be Friday, April 21, when there will be a concert featuring Jones for Revival, Larry Elefante, Smilo and the Ghost and Tony and Gravel, starting at 8 p.m. on the main stage.
The film “The Big Lebowski” will be screened at 7 p.m. in the basement venue. There will also be a costume contest, with judging at 9 p.m.
A keg of “The Dude” White Russian Imperial Stout, made for the occasion by Birdfish Brewing, will be taped at 7 p.m., and “Walter Sobczech” Czech-style Pilsner will also be sold.
‘Becky’s New Car’ Opens Friday at Hopewell
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Hopewell Theatre’s production of “Becky’s New Car” will open Friday, April 21, and will run for two weekends.
The comedy, written by Steven Dietz, explores the life of Becky Foster – caught in middle age, middle management and in a middling marriage, with no prospects for change on the horizon. Until one night, a socially inept and grief-stricken millionaire stumbles into the car dealership where Becky works, and Becky is offered a new life.
The show is directed by Christopher Fidram. The cast includes Rosalyn Blystone, Nick Mulichak, Brian Suchora, Tim Stanley, Dominick Spisak, Dawn Rogers and Jennifer Milligan.

Graduating Art Students Exhibit at Museum
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – An art exhibition of works by students graduating in the fall from Youngstown State University will open Friday, April 21, at the McDonough Museum, and will run through May 6.
An opening reception will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the museum on Wick Avenue, on the YSU campus. Admission to the reception and the museum are free.
The McDonough Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
