The Update | Maple Turner Art Exhibit Extended; Tab Benoit Coming to Robins
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – An exhibition of paintings and sculpture by Maple Turner at the Butler Institute of American Art has been extended.
The exhibition chronicles the Youngstown native’s art career, which took him to New York and Paris and back to Youngstown. It has received record attendance, according to Susan Carfano, Butler spokesperson, drawing visitors from across the country.
Newly added to the exhibition is a ceramic and nails sculpture titled Woyo Symbolic Tribal Kongo from Africa.
Tab Benoit Coming to Robins Theatre
WARREN, Ohio – Grammy-nominated blues artist Tab Benoit will come to the Robins Theatre on July 7 for an 8 p.m. concert.
Tickets range between $20 and $40 (plus applicable fees) and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at robinstheatre.com and at the box office, 160 E. Market St.

YSU Wind and Percussion Invitational
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Cuyahoga Falls High School Symphonic Band and the North Olmsted Falls High School Wind Symphony will be guests at the Wind and Percussion Invitational.
The event, now in its 16th year, will take place at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at Stambaugh Auditorium.
The visiting high school musicians will join Dana School of Music faculty and student ensembles in master classes and workshops. The day will conclude with a joint concert.
Tickets are $8 ($7 for senior students and free for anyone with a valid YSU ID) and available at stambaughauditorium.com or the door that evening.
