The Update | Riffe Gallery Exhibit at Medici Museum; New Wilmington Talent Show
HOWLAND, Ohio – “Sequence,” an exhibition of works by 14 Ohio artists, will open Sunday at the Medici Museum of Art, 9350 E. Market St., and run through Oct. 4.
The exhibition is presented by the Ohio Arts Council’s Riffe Gallery and was curated by Christine D’Epiro Abott. It showcases artists who use printmaking methods as their primary mode of expression, both as a visual tool and as a vehicle for ideas.
“Sequence” is the fourth exhibition from the Riffe Gallery to come to the Medici through a cooperative agreement.
Katelyn Amendolara-Russo, executive director of Medici, said it will conclude the partnership for the year.
“This has been a wonderful opportunity to network and showcase the top talent in Ohio,” Amendolara-Russo said of the partnership. “Sequence showcases amazing examples of printmaking, which is a diverse and beautiful art form that has been practiced for centuries.”
The exhibition includes several different printmaking techniques. The works will be displayed throughout the museum’s galleries.
“It is evident that each artist pushed the boundaries of their creativity to produce stunning works of art in this show,” Amendolara-Russon said.
The artists featured in the exhibition are Charles Beneke, Eliana Calle-Saari, Neil Daigle Orians, Arron Foster, J. Leigh Garcia, Terence Hammonds, David Leach, Ross Mazzupappa, Ellen Jean Price, Danielle Rante, Bobby Rosenstock, Art Werger, Rebekah Anne Wilhelm and Tara Yarzand.
