The Texas Tenors rose to fame after the act appeared on the “America’s Got Talent” television show.

The trio’s concert in Columbiana will feature two sets with an intermission and a tribute to military personnel.

Named one of Billboard Magazine’s top 10 classical artists in the world, the Texas Tenors have had two PBS specials, with two more in the works. The act has earned three Emmy Awards and The Gelett Burgess Award for Excellence in Children’s Literature.

Guests can bring blankets and lawn chairs to sit on and refreshments. The site is handicapped accessible.

Fiery Adult Fun at Event at The Hoyt

NEW CASTLE, Pa. – Arts & Education at the Hoyt will present Ignite!, a fire-centric event, on the lawn from 7 to 10 pm. Saturday, Sept. 28.

Attendees will bask in the glow of furnace demonstrations while enjoying live music and flaming cocktails.

The event will include an artist market, food trucks, bonfires and opportunities to make and take home a part of the experience. A one-of-a-kind pyro-works show will conclude activities at 9:45 p.m.

Admission is $25. Food and drinks and participation in workshops are sold separately.

The event was inspired in part by the success of the Hoyt’s annual Children’s Summer Arts Festival, offering live entertainment and art-making activities that “our adult patrons enjoy every bit as much as their kids. They began asking for a similar event of their own, as well as the return of the wine festival, beer festival and Arts on the Riverwalk festival held downtown. Ignite! allowed us to marry all of these concepts into one event at a more accessible ticket price,” said Kimberly Koller-Jones, executive director of the Hoyt.

Some key attractions include glassblowing with the Pittsburgh Glass Center; aluminum casting and forging with Rivers of Steel; raku firing with Mud Monkey Pottery; and plasma cutting with Ellwood City artist Asia Ward.

The Scenic Route band from Warren, Ohio, will take the main stage at 7 p.m. Cat Lady Cabaret fire dancers will perform on the second stage.

Most hands-on workshops require timed tickets to fill limited seats on a first come, first served basis. They can be purchased in advance or at the gate and range in price from $10 to $20. To guarantee a seat, preregister HERE.

The ticket stub also serves as registration for the basket raffle featuring tickets, certificates, cigars, art and items valued at $250 to $1,000.
