The Update | The Sweet, Angel Coming to Robins; ‘Spongebob’ Tickets to Go on Sale

WARREN, Ohio – The Sweet and Angel will bring their co-headlining tour to Robins Theatre on Sunday, Aug. 27, at 7 p.m.

Tickets range from $30 to $55 (plus applicable fees) and will go on sale Friday, April 28, at 10 a.m. at robinstheatre.com and the box office,160 E. Market St.

A presale for members of Friends of the Robins Theatre will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Both bands scored several hits in the 1970s.

Steve Priest, one of the founding members of The Sweet, came out of retirement in 2007. He assembled a band that toured as The Sweet for over a decade. Priest died in 2020, but his handpicked band continues. The Sweet’s hits include “Ballroom Blitz,” “Fox on the Run” and “Love is Like Oxygen.”

Angel broke up in 1981 but relaunched in 1999 with a new lineup. In 2019, the band released its album “Risen.” Angel’s hits include “The Winter Song,” “Rock & Rollers” and “Don’t Leave Me Lonely.”

‘Spongebob’ Tickets Go on Sale May 1

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Millennial Theatre Company will present “The Spongebob Musical” on July 28-30 and Aug. 4-6.

Performances will be at The Youngstown Playhouse. Curtain times are 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. Sundays.

Star Wars Trivia and Crafts Night

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Café Rosé and Sarah’s Ceramic Studio, 4491 Mahoning Ave., are teaming up to host a “May the Fourth” Star Wars trivia and crafts night on Thursday, May 4, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Registered guests will be able to glaze a Star Wars ceramics tray, provided by Sarah’s Ceramic Studio, and enjoy coffee and tea, compliments of Café Rosé. Trivia will begin at 6 p.m., with winners receiving a light and dark roast coffee basket.

Seating is limited, and advance registration is required HERE.

Café Rosé is a specialty coffee and gift shop. Sarah’s Ceramics Studio is a creative space for artists of all skill levels.

Potential Development Fundraiser at Birdfish

COLUMBIANA, Ohio – Birdfish Brewing and Potential Development will present Pours for Potential on Sunday, April 30, from noon to 4 p.m. The brewery is at 140 E. Park Ave.

The family-friendly fundraiser will include music, raffles, games, food, a dessert truck and craft beer. Admission is free.

Birdfish will donate $1 from every beer poured during the event to Potential Development. Delisha’s Food Truck will donate 100% of dessert revenue, and S & T Engraving will donate 20% of its sales from branded merchandise and also provide free logoed pint glasses to the first 100 people at the event.

Raffle prizes include five field-level box seats for the July 8 Cleveland Guardians vs. Kansas City Royals game and a Birdfish Brewing cooler filled with merchandise and a $100 gift card.

Potential Development students participated in a coloring contest featuring a commemorative Birdfish coloring page. All artwork will be displayed at the event. One winner each from Potential Development Preschool, Elementary/Middle School and High School will be announced at the event, and they will receive their artwork in the form of a puzzle in a customized tin.

Columbiana Craft BeerFest Sets Date

COLUMBIANA, Ohio – The Columbiana Craft BeerFest will take place Saturday, Sept. 23, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Firestone Farms Town Center.

Proceeds will go toward the effort to rebuild Fisher Stadium in Firestone Park, home of the Columbiana High School football team.

The beer festival will feature samples from more than 10 area breweries, live music, local food trucks and area vendors.

Tickets are $30 in advance and $40 at the gate (includes 10 tasting tickets and a 13-ounce tasting glass).
