The Update | Valley Author Publishes Holiday Stories; Parade in Warren
AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Mahoning Valley author Nancy Christie has released “Mistletoe Magic and Other Holiday Tales,” her third collection of short stories.
Published by Unsolicited Press, “Mistletoe Magic” (trade paperback, $16, 168 pages) looks at the wonder and excitement of the holiday season as shown through the experiences of the characters in the eight stories.
Working on the stories was fun for Christie.
“I still believe in the magic of the season, despite all the terrible things that are happening worldwide,” she said. “Perhaps it’s just my way of achieving some sense of balance and maintaining a measure of hope.”
“Mistletoe Magic and Other Holiday Tales” joins Christie’s body of work that includes her award-winning novel “Reinventing Rita,” two short fiction collections (“Traveling Left of Center and Other Stories” and “Peripheral Visions and Other Stories”), two books for writers and the inspirational essay collection “The Gifts of Change.”
Christie will sell and sign copies of her new book from 3 to 6 p.m. Dec. 21 at Leana’s Books & More, 45317 Kirk Road, Austintown.
