TNP Helps Mac’s Market Offer Community Fresh Produce
WARREN, Ohio — Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership is addressing food access insecurities through the Healthy Community Store Initiative to help store owners offer healthy foods.
Mac’s Market is the only community store on the southwest side of Warren that offers fresh produce, says Lydia Walls, healthy retail access coordinator for TNP.
“Something that a lot of residents in Warren don’t always realize is we might have access to food, but a lot of times it’s a food desert in terms of healthy food,” says Walls. “Especially in this community, this is a really great thing for them to have this here.”
