TNP’s Mahoning Valley Farmers Market Trail Begins Today
WARREN, Ohio – Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership is encouraging Mahoning Valley residents to purchase fresh, local food while supporting area farmers markets.
TNP, which has operated the Warren Farmers Market as part of its food access initiative since 2013, is looking to connect residents to farmers markets through its Mahoning Valley Farmers Market Trail, which begins today.
Five farmers markets are participating in the trail: Howland Farmers Market, Hubbard Farmers Market, Niles Farmers Market, Youngstown-Northside Farmers Market and Warren Farmers Market.
Residents can visit any of the five markets to receive a free trail passport and earn stamps by purchasing from two vendors at each market through Sept. 23. Completed passports can be turned in to TNP for a chance to win a $200 Visa gift card.
“The MV Farmers Market Trail is a great way for residents to find out about the farmers markets in their community, support local farmers and vendors while supporting the local food system,” said Lydia Walls, TNP’s food access coordinator.
