Trading Tattoo Machines for Sewing Machines | 2020 Staff Picks
Dec. 28, 2020: 2020 has been a year full of challenges and at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic some of those challenges included the shortage of supplies across the country.
Hand sanitizer, toilet paper, and canned foods seemed to be worth their weight in gold and were scarcely found on grocery store shelves.
Another shortage we faced was a lack of personal protective equipment. Masks, which seem to be found in every store you walk into now, were in short supply back in March and April.
Luckily, we have people in our community like Hope Sweany, owner and operator of Intuitive Ink Tattoo Studio in Austintown.
After having to close her shop due to the shutdown order, Sweany used the time she would have been spending inking clients to sew masks for first responders.
