3 Minutes With | Jim Tressel and Helen Lafferty
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Youngstown State University President Jim Tressel reflects on the school’s growth and future, as well as his plans are after retirement.
His first priority is being more available for family, friends, former players and colleagues. Secondary to that is a couple of projects in the works.
“One of the passions I have is for us to be able to raise enough money so that the board of trustees would approve us building a new student center. That’s one project,” Tressel says. “The other project is to keep our university and our Valley in the forefront when it comes to economic development activities, workforce training, attraction of business and industry.”
We also hear from YSU’s incoming interim president, Helen Lafferty, about what Tressel has meant to the university.
