Trumbull Manufacturing Location Sold for $1.95M

YOUNGSTOWN – Completing an acquisition announced earlier this year, the Hendricks Road, Austintown, location of Trumbull Manufacturing Inc. was sold for $1.95 million this week.

Trumbull Manufacturing Inc. sells products for waterworks and valve industries, including curb box products, chainwheels, hydrant parts, wall brackets, stem guides and manhole lids.

The purchaser, Core & Main LP is located in St. Louis, Mo. and touts itself as a leading specialized distributor of water, wastewater, storm drain and fire protection products for municipal, non-residential and residential end markets nationwide.

Core & Main announced an agreement to purchase the municipal waterworks division of 100-year-old Trumbull Industries, Inc. on Aug. 23. Trumbull Manufacturing formed in 1981, a sister company to Trumbull Industries.

The location at 3850 Hendricks Road went through a nearly $2 million renovation in 2017, when Trumbull Manufacturing Inc. expanded their operations to Austintown. The move to Austintown came after the business received an incentives package, including a tax abatement of 60% over the next 10 years on new real estate.

Trumbull Manufacturing reportedly has four branches – Youngstown and Akron, as well as Bentleyville and Meadville, Pa.

“We are thrilled to expand our presence in Ohio and Pennsylvania,” said Steve LeClair, chief executive officer of Core & Main. “The local knowledge and expertise their team brings enable us to deliver on our shared commitment to deliver quality products and outstanding customer service to the region.”

The property was sold by Samuel and Murray Miller, co-trustees of The Miller Family. The Miller family founded Trumbull Industries, Inc. in 1922.

“We have a dedicated team of employees who provide exceptional service and an array of high-quality products,” said Sam H. Miller, of Trumbull Industries’ municipal division in a release announcing the acquisition in August. “Core & Main has its own remarkable history, and it is apparent we share a fundamental set of values. Their focus on collaborative associate development and excellent customer service creates a lot of excitement for our team.”
