Trumbull Tourism Bureau Releases 2023 Report

WARREN, Ohio – The Trumbull County Tourism Bureau has released its 2023 Annual Report, which showcases the growth and positive impacts of its efforts and the county’s visitor industry. 

According to the report, Trumbull County experienced a 10% increase in visitors in 2023, welcoming a diverse range of travelers. Columbus, Cleveland and Pittsburgh were the top three visitor originations.

“If polled, many in our region are surprised to learn we have a robust travel economy here. Considering the industry in broad terms, reasons people are traveling to the area include business, golf and Mosquito Lake,” said Beth Kotwis Carmichael, executive director of the tourism bureau. “Through research, we also know that 50% of visitors come to visit family and friends. This is why it’s important to ensure our residents know all the great things there are to do and see in our county.”

Visitor spending activities have contributed $842 million in total economic impact, creating more than 7,600 jobs in the county and translating into $111 million in tax revenue ($23 million for local taxes), according to the report.

Retail and food and beverage are the top industries directly benefiting from this spending. Businesses in other sectors, such as business services, finance, insurance and real estate, have also benefited from increased visitor activity, according to the report.
