Citing an unidentified Trump campaign spokesperson as its source, Spectrum News reported yesterday that she would be appearing in Niles Saturday. The visit comes days before Election Day and the same week that her older brother, Donald Trump Jr., campaigned in Youngstown.
“I’m excited to be back in the Buckeye state to discuss how President Trump has delivered for hard working Ohioans,” she said in the advisory. “My father has renegotiated unfair trade deals, advocated for school choice, fought against the scourge of human trafficking, increased access to affordable child care and cut taxes for hard working families.”
Her father, she added, would continue to fight for Ohioans for the next four years.
Ivanka Trump had been scheduled to visit Youngstown in August 2019 for an event highlighting her father’s Opportunity Zone program. Hr appearance was canceled following a mass shooting in Dayton.
Polls still show Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden running neck and neck in Ohio, a state that Trump won by eight percentage points in 2016 and was expected to be solidly in the Republican column earlier this year.
