Two Regional Chamber Foundations Distribute $111K in 2016
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Two foundations managed by the Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber distributed $111,000 to support projects in Trumbull County last year, the chamber announced.
Through the Warren Area Chamber of Commerce Education, Civic & Cultural Foundation, $11,000 was donated to the Warren Philharmonic Orchestra and the Kent State University Foundation. Since it was created in 1991, the foundation has awarded more than $1.7 million.
The Warren Area Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Foundation also gave $100,000 to support the regional chamber’s development projects in Trumbull County, among them the Lordstown Energy Center. Over the past 26 years, the foundation has supported 280 projects in the county, resulting in $3.6 billion in investment, the creation of 10,273 jobs and the retention of 27,737 jobs.
At the end of 2016, the Education, Civic & Cultural Foundation had assets of $771,678 and the Economic Development Foundation had assets of $937,944.
