US EPA Gives Orders for Cleanup to Norfolk Southern

EAST PALESTINE, Ohio – U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Michael Regan ordered Norfolk Southern to conduct all necessary actions associated with the cleanup as a result of the Feb. 3 train derailment.

In addition to calling on Congress to look into rail safety, Gov. Mike DeWine urged community members who have health concerns to make an appointment at a new health assessment clinic that opened at noon Tuesday.

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro stated the first round of test results from an independent water sampling done by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection are mere days away.
