Mahoning Valley Auto Sales Up in July

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Sales of new and used automobiles in the tri-county area increased to 5,511 last month, up from 4,881 in June, according to data from the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers Association. That’s also up 540 from 4971 in July 2018.

Year-to-date, sales of new and used vehicles stand at 34,757, up from 32,886 in July 2018.

Sweeney Chevy Buick GMC led the month with 504 new and used cars sold between its two Boardman-based dealerships. Greenwood Chevy, Austintown, followed with 284; Boardman Subaru with 246; and Stadium GM Superstore with 241. Taylor Kia of Boardman rounded out the top five with 231.

For new vehicle sales, Sweeney Chevrolet led with 225, up from 217 in June. Stadium followed with 167, Greenwood Chevy with 165, Boardman Subaru with 154, Taylor Kia with 134 and Sweeney Buick GMC with 123.

Greenwood Chevy led used vehicle sales for July with 119, followed by Taylor Kia with 97, Boardman Subaru with 92, Sweeney Chevrolet with 89 and Fred Martin Ford in Austintown with 86.
