Valley-based Novelist Nancy Christie Publishes ‘Finding Fran’

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Nancy Christie has published “Finding Fran,” the second novel in the Austintown-based author’s Midlife Moxie series.

The story centers on 55-year-old romance novelist Fran Carter. With her professional and personal life in disarray, she has to make some hard decisions about her future.

“Finding Fran is a lighthearted contemporary story about a situation many midlife women find themselves in,” Christie said.

The title character is under stress to meet her publisher’s expectations. She no longer finds her career enjoyable or fulfilling and has discovered that her significant other has been unfaithful.

Following a less-than-successful book event, she escapes to a northern California bed and breakfast, where she unexpectedly receives some life advice from the owner.

Christie’s Midlife Moxie series showcases women facing personal and career challenges who ultimately pursue their dreams. Female friendships, both old and new, are an integral element of each plot.

“As we grow older, we realize how important and essential our women friends are,” Christie said. “They support us, encourage us and, if needed, give us a figurative kick in the pants to get us out of our rut.”

The new novel is available online and in bookstores nationwide.

Christie’s body of work also includes the award-winning novel “Reinventing Rita,” three short fiction collections, two books for writers and the inspirational essay collection “The Gifts of Change.”
