Valley Growth Ventures Invests in Cybersecurity Company

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Valley Growth Ventures has announced its investment in Columbus-based DatAnchor, the capital fund’s first investment of 2019.

DatAnchor is a cybersecurity platform focused on protecting data as it moves across file types and applications, said CEO Emre Koksal in a release.

“We enable data access within and revocation outside of granular boundaries, characterized using physical and logical rules specified by the business according to their needs,” he continued.

Valley Growth Ventures, a $6 million capital fund focused on investing in Ohio-based companies, noted that part of the decision to invest in DatAnchor was because of the market’s limited competition.

“Their software solution, which enables security to travel with data, can change the game in enterprise security,” said managing director Ernie Knight. “This is an opportunity with significant upside.”

Founded last year, Valley Growth Ventures has invested in four companies, including DatAnchor. In December, the group announced capital funding for Youngstown Business Incubator portfolio company MedaSync, as well Cleveland-based S4 Medical and MedPilot.
