Valley Housing Sales Gained in February

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Last month, there were 2,785 single family houses sold in the 18-county region – which includes Mahoning, Columbiana and Trumbull counties – up from 2,616 in January, a 6.5% increase, according to data from Yes-MLS.com.

Year-over-year, sales rose 13.1% from 2,463 sold in February 2019. The average sale price rose slightly to $170,517, a 1.6% increase from January, and up 8.9% from $156,576 in February 2020.

In the Mahoning Valley, Mahoning County reported an increase in sold listings while Columbiana and Trumbull counties stayed the same.

Mahoning County reported 191 listings sold, up from 162 in January. The average sale price dipped to $119,482, down from $124,289. Year-over-year, sold listings increased 34.5% from 142 sold in February 2019. The county also reported 268 new listings in February.

Listings sold last month in Trumbull and Columbiana counties were even with January at 127 and 62 sales, respectively. Trumbull’s average sale price in February was down to $110,060 from $112,356 in January, while Columbiana County saw a jump in its average sale price to $127,347, up from $101,783.

Trumbull County reported 182 new listings in February, and Columbiana 80.
