Valley Housing Sales Up for the Month in March

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — March saw 3,591 houses sold in the 18-county region – which includes Mahoning, Columbiana and Trumbull Counties – up from 2,785 in February, a 28.9% increase, according to data from Yes-MLS.com.

Year-over-year, sales are up 9.4% from 3,282 sold in March 2019. The average sale price increased to $184,072, up 8% from February, and up 10.7% from $166,308 in March 2019.

Mahoning County reported 214 listings sold, up from 191 in February. The average sale price increased for the month to $126,590, up from $119,482, but dipped 6.4% from $135,227 in March 2019. Year-over-year, sold listings dropped 4.9% from 225 sold in March 2019. The county also reported 258 new listings in March.

Trumbull County saw 130 listings sold in March, up from 127 sold in February. At $118,790, the average sale price was also up from $110,060 the previous month. Year-over-year, sold listings fell 20.3% from 163 sold in March 2019, though the average sale price increased 14.3% from $103,978 from the same month a year ago. There were 190 new listings reported in the county in March.

In Columbiana County, 67 listings were sold in March, up slightly from 62 sales in February, though down 5.6% from 71 in March 2019. The average sale price for the county was $118,225, down from $127,347 in February, but up 6.6% from $110,957 in March 2019. The county reported 90 new listings in March.
