Varley Becomes Newest Member of Boardman School Board

Boardman, Ohio– In a special board meeting Aug, 28, the Boardman School Board voted to appoint Tom Varley as its newest member. He fills the seat vacated by the resignation of Frank Zetts.

Varley is the director of human resources for Compco in Columbiana, where he is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functions of HR and managing any personnel issues that arise.

Varley and his wife, Kim, have resided in Boardman for 12 years. Their daughter Alayna graduated from Boardman in 2022. Their sons, Tommy and Jayse, attend the high school while their youngest daughter, Adalyn, attends Center Intermediate School.

“I am just really excited to be part of this team so that I can experience our incredible school district from every angle. I’ve been involved in athletic youth programs, boosters, and fundraising for teacher grants. This is an opportunity to work with a group of leaders focused on all of our Spartans’ success,” says Varley.
