Couple Donates $120K to Boardman Stadium Project

BOARDMAN, Ohio – With a $120,000 donation from Bill and Karen Veri, the Boardman Boosters and Stadium Project Committee expects the final phase of the new Spartan Stadium to break ground in spring.

The final phase includes construction of locker rooms, a concession stand, eating area, public restrooms, ticket booths and a façade with memorial bricks for donors. The estimated cost is $650,000.

“Community support continues to amaze us, and Bill and Karen Veri’s contributions have been vital in keeping the Stadium Project moving as we close in on the finish line,” said boosters President Bruce Flyak.  “We want to remind everyone, about our locker campaign, and brick campaign, where you can also leave a legacy when you donate.”

The donation marks the second time the Veris have donated to the project. Last year they donated $150,000 to fund construction of the “Home of the Spartans” band shell.

A check presentation will be held tomorrow evening before the Spartans’ varsity basketball game against Canfield High School.

More information about the construction project and how to donate is available at BoardmanStadium.org.
