Virtual Event | Brain Gain Navigators: Hynes Industries

During a Brain Gain Navigators webinar April 14, Hynes Industries President and CEO Rick Organ and Jeremy Gurski, plant manager, shared their journeys to manufacturing and what they look for in an employee.

For nearly 100 years, Hynes Industries has produced metal products from its plant at 3805 Hendricks Road in Youngstown. Over the years, the company has built its workforce on three key qualities: attitude, aptitude and attendance.

“The attitude is like speed in an athlete,” Organ says. “If you’ve got speed, we can teach you the rest. And aptitude, if you’re willing to learn and you’re willing to let other people teach you and be patient … and you’re dependable. The soft skills – those are critically important to us. We can teach you all the rest.”

This event was our Brain Gain program’s first Navigators tour of a manufacturing plant. Watch the full event in the video above.
