VLT Play at Austintown Racino Hits $1.14B
AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Patrons at Penn National Gaming Inc.’s racino in Austintown wagered $57.77 million more during the fiscal year that ended June 30 than they did during the previous fiscal year.
The report released Monday afternoon showing the results for last month and fiscal year 2018 showed credits played at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course in Austintown totaled $1.14 billion, up 5.3% from the $1.09 billion reported during the previous fiscal year.
Penn National, based in Wyomissing, Pa., opened the racino in September 2014.
Statewide, VLT wagers for the fiscal year totaled $10.78 billion, up 5.7% from $10.20 billion for the previous fiscal year.
Players at the Austintown racino took home $1.01 billion during FY 2018, compared with $965.23 million during FY 2017. Net win – what remains after credits won and promotional pay credits are subtracted from wagers – totaled $115.33 million for the fiscal year, up from $106.56 year-over-year. Penn National’s share of net wins was $76.31 million for the year, up from $70.51 million the year before.
In June, VLT play at Hollywood Gaming totaled $99.41 million, up 5.5% from $94.24 million year-over-year and also up from $95.41 million in May. Credits won totaled $87.89 million in June, up from $84.48 million in May and from June 2017’s $83.51 million.
Net win for last month was $10.13 million, out of which Penn National received $6.70 million.
Statewide, VLT play totaled $949.21 million.
