VLT Play Dips at Austintown Racino in October

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Video lottery terminal wagers at Penn National Gaming Inc.’s Austintown racino in October were down about $1.76 million from the month before.

VLT play at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course totaled $96.22 million in October, down from $97.98 million in September, according to online reports by the Ohio Lottery Commission, which oversees VLT operations at the state’s casinos and racinos.

Year-over-year, October wagers on VLTs at the racino were up from the $93.56 million reported in 2017.

VLT wagers statewide also declined month-over-month to $909.08 million from $933.30 million in September.

Players in October took home credits worth $85.07 million, down from $86.77 million the month before but up from $82.98 million in October 2017.

Net win for the month – credits played minus credits won and promotional play credits – was $9.84 million, out of which Penn National received $6.51 million as its commission for operating the racino and $3.30 million went to the Ohio Lottery Commission. The prior month net win totaled $9.82 million, with the racino’s commission totaling $6.50 million and the lottery commission’s take reaching $3.29 million.

Net win in October 2017 was $9.41 million, the racino’s commission $6.22 million and the lottery commission’s take $3.15 million.
