VLT Play Rebounds in February at Racino
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Wagers on video lottery terminals at Austintown’s racino rebounded in February after a soft January.
The Ohio Lottery Commission, which oversees the video slot machines in Ohio, said Wednesday that Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course reported VLT wagers last month totaling $92.59 million, up from $85.43 million in January and the highest monthly total since last October’s $93.56 million.
VLT play statewide in January was down from December’s total, but rebounded in February. Statewide wagering last month was $848.92 million, compared with $799.27 million in January and $867.42 million in December.
February’s total at the Austintown was down slightly from the $92.83 million wagered on VLTs a year earlier, according to the monthly report.
Winnings here totaled just over $81.99 million last month, up from $75.86 million in January.
The racino is operated by Penn National Gaming Inc., which received $6.30 million last month. The lottery commission received $3.19 million.
