VLT Play Rebounds in February

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Following a drop off in January, Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race course experienced a rebound last month in wagers on its video lottery terminals. 

Released online Monday afternoon, the latest monthly report by the Ohio Lottery Commission showed VLT wagers in February hitting $132.3 million, up from $121.3 million the month before. January wagers were down sharply from $137.7 million in December. 

Located in Austintown, the racino is operated by Penn National Gaming Inc., based in Wyomissing, Pa. 

February’s VLT wagering also was up from nearly $115 million a year earlier.

Winnings last month totaled $117.8 million, up from $108.2 million in January and approaching the nearly $123 million in December. In February 2021, patrons won $102.5 million. 

Net win – what remains after the value of credits won and promotional play credits are subtracted from credits played – was $12.6 million in February, up from $11.2 million in January and down from $12.8 million in December. 

Penn National’s take of net win last month was $8.3 million, compared with $7.4 million in January, $8.5 million in December and $7.3 million in February 2021.
