VLT Play Totals $967.2M at Racino for Fiscal 2016

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Bettors wagered $967.2 million and took home $861.2 million at video lottery terminals over the last 12 months at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course in Austintown.

The monthly report on the Ohio Lottery Commission’s website also showed net win for the Austintown racino, which is operated by Penn National Gaming Inc. in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, was $97.5 million for the 2016 fiscal year, which ended June 30.

Of the net win, Penn National received $64.5 million as its commission for operating the racino and the lottery commission received $32.7 million.

Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course opened in September 2014, more than two months into the 2015 fiscal year. Credits played for fiscal 2015 totaled $700.7 million, credits won $623.1 million and net win $73.6 million. Penn National’s commission was $48.7 million and the lottery commission received $24.7 million.

In June, credits played at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course totaled $79.6 million, up from $76.5 million in June 2015. Credits won last month totaled just under $71 million, up from $68.4 million a year earlier.

Net win in June was $7.6 million, comparable to about the same a year earlier. The racino’s commission was about the same – just under $5.1 million – both last month and in June 2015. The lottery commission received $2.6 million last month and in June 2016.
