VLT Wagers at Racino Decline in November

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Local video lottery terminal play in November was down nearly 1.15% from the month before, the Ohio Lottery Commission reported.

VLT wagers at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course in Austintown totaled $124.9 million, down from $140.9 million in October but more than the $91.7 reported for November 2020.

The local figures mirrored a statewide drop in VLT play last month, which totaled $1.1 billion. That was down from October’s $1.2 billion.

Winnings at the racino last month totaled $111.4 million, down from $125.4 million the month before and up from $81.5 million in November 2020.

November’s net win – credits played minus winning and the value of promotional play credits – was $11.7 million, compared with $13.4 million in October and $8.8 million in November 2020.

Out of the net win, Penn National Gaming inc., the Pennsylvania company that developed and operates the racino, received $7.7 million, down from $8.9 million the month before but up from $5.8 million  in November 2020.

The lottery commission, which oversees VLT play in Ohio, received $3.9 million last month, down from $4.5 million in October but up from just under $3 million a year earlier.
