VLT Wagers in October Rise 12.2% at Racino

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Wagers on video lottery terminals at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course in October were up 12.2% from a year earlier, the Ohio Lottery Commission reported Monday.

VLT wagers last month totaled $88.1 million, compared with $78.5 million in October 2015. The average number of VLTs operating per day at the Austintown racino last month was 980, compared with 940 a year earlier.

Statewide, racino play was $817.6 million in October, up from $761.5 million a year ago, up 7.4%.

Winnings for patrons totaled $78.2 million in October, up from $69.9 million in October 2015. Net win – credits played minus credits won and promotional credits – was $8.6 million in October, compared with $7.9 million a year ago.

The commission paid to the racino, which is operated by Penn National Gaming Inc. of Wyomissing, Pa., was $5.7 million, up from $5.2 million in October 2015.
