Wagers Down at Hollywood Gaming
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Wagering at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course in May lagged behind the previous two months, totaling $95.41 million.
The value of wagers at video lottery terminals is down from April, when $103.33 million was wagered at the Austintown racino, as well as May 2017, when $98.59 million was wagered.
The figures were released Thursday in the Ohio Lottery Commission’s monthly VLT report
Net winnings at the racino, operated by Penn National Gaming, totaled $9.55 million, down from both April’s $10.51 million, but improved from a year ago, when net winnings – totaled by subtracting credits won and promotional play credits from the total credits played – were reported at $9.48 million.
Statewide, VLT wagers totaled $932,169,565 last month, led by Hard Rock Rocksino in Northfield, where $232.19 million was wagered.
Hollywood Gaming also announced it would expand its patio gaming area, adding 74 video lottery terminals to the space. When work is completed at the end of August, the patio will have 144 VLTs. In total, the racino currently has 970 machines.
