Warren Library Grand Reopening Set for Aug. 20
WARREN, Ohio – The newly remodeled and expanded Warren Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. NW, will host a grand reopening celebration from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20. The festivities will include musical entertainment, children’s events, free refreshments, and more activities for all ages.
The celebration kicks off with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. to mark completion of the Warren Library’s construction and renovation project.
Construction began in April 2021 on the project, which consists of a 14,800-square-foot one-story addition to the building and renovations to the library’s original section that opened in 1971.
The Aug. 20 event will include the following free scheduled entertainment at the Warren Library:
- 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. – Live Music with Davis & Henner;
- 11:30 a.m. – Wonderful World of Bubbles with Mr. Zap;
- 1 p.m. – West African Drumming & Dance with Sogbety Diomande;
- 1:30-3:30 p.m. – Live Music with The Cue;
- 2:30 p.m. – “Big Splash!” Puppet Show.
The celebration will also feature gaming in Teen Central; balloon artist and magician Nate the Great will make amazing balloon animals; children can meet storybook characters “Elephant” and “Piggie” from the popular book series by Mo Willems; and hands-on activities and crafts will be available in the Sutliff Museum located on the second floor of the library.
Regular hours will begin at the Warren Library on Monday, Aug. 22. The library will return to its pre-pandemic operating hours of Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and closed on Sunday.
The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library system includes libraries in Brookfield, Cortland, Howland, Liberty, Lordstown, and Warren; a Bookmobile; and Outreach Library Service.
