Warren Native Brown Named OOGEEP Executive Director

GRANVILLE, Ohio –The Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Program has appointed George Brown, a native of Warren, as its new executive director.

The announcement was made this week by David R. Hill, chairman of the OOGEEP operating committee board.

Brown has extensive experience in designing and managing successful programs, partnerships and operations in both the public and private sectors. He joined OOGEEP after serving in a senior role at the Federal Housing Finance Agency where he led engagements with members of Congress and industry stakeholders. He has previous experience serving as the Deputy Assistant Administrator for Congressional and Legislative Affairs and Associate Administrator for Intergovernmental Affairs at the U.S. Small Business Administration.

His private sector experience includes managing regulatory and government affairs at Westfield Insurance. He has also served in the offices of U.S. Senators George V. Voinovich and Rob Portman. Brown earned his undergraduate degree from Youngstown State University.
