Watson Moves to WKBN to Replace Walters

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Lindsey Watson will take over as co-anchor of WKBN-TV 27 evening newscasts beginning next week. She will replace Alexis Walters, who has accepted a position with WJW-TV in Cleveland.

Watson has been an anchor on 33 WYTV for several years. She’ll join Dave Sess on WKBN First News at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. and Stan Boney for First News at 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. First News at 10 airs on WYFX Fox Youngstown.

“I am truly honored to continue WKBN’s legacy and join this trusted team of award-winning journalists,” Watson said.

“Lindsey demonstrates a passion for explaining how and why news events will impact people here in the Valley,” said WKBN-TV General Manager Dave Coy.

Walters was a meteorologist and news anchor with WKBN for five years.

“We have been very fortunate that both Lindsey and Alexis have seized on multiple opportunities to grow their careers while pursuing their professional dreams within our company,” Coy stated.

WKBN-TV, WYFX, and WJW are owned by Nexstar Media Group Inc. Nexstar Media Inc. provides newcast services for WYTV and WYTV Television LLC through an outsourcing agreement.
