WARREN, Ohio — The Raymond John Wean Foundation approved grants totaling $110,000 at its September meeting to Mahoning Valley organizations committed to its strategic priorities of economic opportunity and educational opportunity.
The Turning Foundation was awarded $60,000 over two years to expand its teacher mini-grant program. The program focuses on supporting teachers who demonstrate innovative practices.
The Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition received an award of $50,000 for a collaboration with Compass Family & Community Services. “This support will assure individuals receive a comprehensive set of services enabling their placement and advancement in an in-demand career and that businesses access talent they need,” said Rebecca Kusner, MVMC director of strategic planning and policy.
The Raymond John Wean Foundation is accepting letters of inquiry for its next round of community investment grants, says its president, Jennifer Roller. The deadline is Dec. 1.
