Wean Foundation Names Spivey Facilities Coordinator
WARREN, Ohio – The Raymond John Wean Foundation announced this week that it is continuing to build capacity with the hiring of John Spivey as facilities coordinator.
In this newly created role, Spivey maintains the functionality, safety, maintenance and health and vitality of the foundation offices. He is responsible for the oversight, assessment and recommendations of facility repairs, inspections and installations.
Spivey comes to the foundation with over 30 years of experience working with community stakeholders having held positions at government and nonprofit organizations. In addition to being a small business owner for over 20 years, Spivey most recently was employed as specialist/job developer at Coleman Behavior Health. In this role he built relationships with organizations to facilitate the employment of clients with disabilities, provided education and support to family members and conducted job development, search and placement activities.
“As a lifelong resident of Youngstown, John’s relationships in his own business acquiring, rehabbing and selling properties as well as the broad range of operational skills that work requires are key in his ability to ensure the facility functions at peak performance,” says Jennifer Roller, president of the Wean Foundation. “His addition to the team is critical as we pursue our goal of activating the facility as a civic space.”
Spivey holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Youngstown State University and a master’s degree in public administration from Cleveland State University.
