Wean Foundation Opening Success Grant Applications Thursday
WARREN, Ohio – The Raymond John Wean Foundation will start accepting applications for grants from its Neighborhood Success program on Thursday.
The program is open to grassroots groups in Warren and Youngstown. Grant amounts will range from $500 to $5,000.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has disproportionately impacted communities of color and requires an urgent, equitable response that places residents at the center of the process, and leverages the financial, human and material resources that exist in the community,” said program officer Corrie Adams in a statement. “Our streamlined grant application process is a response to what we’re hearing from residents and organizations today.”
For 2021, the Wean Foundation has expanded the program to include streamlined application process, a rolling timeline, on-demand orientation and technical assistance and an expedited review process.
The foundation is considering requests that “align with resident identified priorities and the spirit of the program” for organizations addressing neighborhood challenges caused or made worse by the COVID-19 pandemic. Grants will also be made to bolster programming and operations.
