Weekend Entertainment | Oktoberfest at Boardman Park
Boardman Rotary Club’s annual Oktoberfest will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, in Boardman Park, 375 Boardman-Poland Road.
The popular event will feature vendors, children’s activities and live entertainment. Admission is $5.
The event was started in 1976 and has grown into the area’s largest one-day arts and crafts event, drawing vendors from five states. Visitors often arrive by the busload.
The Texas Tenors will give a free concert at the beautiful new Idabelle Firestone amphitheater at Firestone Park in Columbiana at 3 p.m. Sunday. Bring a blanket, lawn chairs and refreshments for this rare opportunity.
Other highlights this weekend include a concert by country duo Maddie & Tae at 8 p.m. Saturday at Packard Music Hall. Tickets are going fast; click HERE.
If you missed them at the Hola Festival on Saturday, Youngstown’s popular The Labra Brothers band will perform a free outdoor concert in downtown Sharon, Pa., from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in the grassy area near the Shenango River on East State Street. Bring a blanket or lawn chair.
William Shatner, who played one of the most iconic roles in television history – Capt. Kirk on “Star Trek” – will come to Packard Music Hall tonight. His appearance will feature a screening of the classic Star Trek film “The Wrath of Khan,” after which the actor will share backstage details of its making and answer audience questions.
