Weekend Entertainment Starts with Brett Eldredge
YOUNGSTOWN – The video for Brett Eldredge’s new single, “Songs About You,” is hard to forget. That’s because its theme plays off the 2004 film “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.”
The visuals refer to the song’s theme – forgetting. In this case, with the help of some futuristic science.
In case you forgot, the country music star is returning to Youngstown tonight for a concert at The Amp, downtown.
Nate Smith will open the show. Tickets are available at the gate.
“Songs About You” is the title track of Eldredge’s latest album, which has already produced the single “Holy Water” and is getting strong reviews.
PEOPLE described it as “a necklace of twelve gems, each with its own sparkle, from the unbridled joy of the first track, ‘Can’t Keep Up,’ to the achingly sweet sadness of final track, ‘Where the Light Meets the Sea.’”
Billboard agreed, saying “Sonically, the album strips away anything that would distract from the project’s vocals and lyrics, which find Eldredge digging deeper into not only themes of love and heartbreak, but mental health.”
Here’s a look at what else is on tap this weekend in local entertainment:
The High Kings, a traditional Irish folk music act that has earned the highest acclaim, will also be in the area tonight. The High Kings will bring their harmonies and instrumental inventiveness to The Robins Theatre in Warren. Tickets are available at the box office.

The Columbiana County Fair continues through Sunday, and The Mahoning Valley Scrappers baseball team has home games through Sunday at Eastwood Field in Niles.
The Youngstown Italian Festival will also run all weekend in downtown Youngstown, as will the St. Patrick’s Church parish festival in Hubbard.
