Weekend Entertainment | Taylor Swift Tribute Show at Eastwood Field
When Makayla McIntosh put together the Miss Americanas, a Taylor Swift tribute show, she didn’t know how it would turn out.
Swift is easily the biggest entertainment draw in the universe and commands legions of passionate fans in every country.
Would the Miss Americanas be accepted and appreciated? Or would the Swift juggernaut cast them aside?
It turns out McIntosh didn’t need to worry.
The aura of a Taylor Swift concert pervaded the room at that Miss Americanas show last year at the Robins Theatre in Warren.
The hundreds of fans were already in the spirit when they arrived, and it spread from there.
Swift plays massive football and soccer stadiums when she goes on tour. On Friday, for the first time, the Miss Americanas will also play a stadium show.
The act will perform at Eastwood Field in Niles – home of the Mahoning Valley Scrappers baseball team – at 7 p.m.
The Miss Americanas will use three singers to cover Swift’s songs: McIntosh, Lauren Jones and Angela Cole. All three are Mahoning Valley natives.
The show will include the debut performances of songs from Swift’s latest album, “Tortured Poets Department.”
The Riley Burke Band will be the opening act.
The all-ages, family friendly concert will include face painting, Taylor Swift mocktails and cocktails, a build-your-own hat bar and other aspects of the Taylor Swift fan experience.
Tickets start at $15 and can be purchased at the gate or in advance HERE.
