The sitcom “Friends” was on the air for 10 years and made a lot of fans who followed the antics of Monica, Ross, Rachel, Joey, Phoebe and Chandler. The series wrapped about 15 years ago.
Now comes “Friends, the Musical Parody.” The PR copy calls it a “delightfully naughty confection” that recreates the show’s best moments through “an uncensored, fast-paced, music filled romp.”
The show starts at 8 p.m. For more info, including ticket prices, click HERE.
There is also a good bit of local theater on tap this weekend.
The intimate drama “Marjorie Prime,” starring Molly Galano, opens tonight in the Moyer Room of The Youngstown Playhouse. For information, click HERE.
At Kent State-Trumbull Theater in Warren, the smart and topical “The Thanksgiving Play” enters its second and final weekend. It’s a one-act satirical comedy about four White people trying to devise a politically correct First Thanksgiving play for Native American Heritage Month. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
One of the Mahoning Valley’s best Christmas traditions is the Memories of Christmas Past exhibition at the Arms Family Museum, which returns Saturday and runs through the holiday season.
The exhibition was forced to cancel last year but promises a warm and bright return. To learn more, click HERE.
Another Valley tradition is the annual holiday marketplace at the Ward Bakery Building in Youngstown. The building’s many artists and artisans open their studios and sell their one-of-a-kind wares for discerning Christmas shoppers.
The first market weekend will be this Saturday and Sunday, from noon to 5 p.m. both days. To learn more, click HERE.
