Weekend Outlook | Youngstown Symphony in a Romantic Mood
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Miriam Burns will return as guest conductor on Sunday to lead the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra in concert.
Also joining in the 4 p.m. classical concert at Powers Auditorium will be guest violinist Stephen Tavani.
It’s one of the highlights of a weekend that also includes a concert by country star Marty Stuart, a Michael Jackson tribute show performance, and the opening of “Heathers: The Musical.”
Sunday’s YSO concert, titled “An Evening of the Romantics,” will feature pieces by Bartok, Brahms and Beethoven. Tavani has been the assistant concertmaster of the Cleveland Orchestra since 2018.
Burns, who led the YSO in a concert at the start of the season, is the artistic director and conductor of the Paragon Philharmonia in Virginia, director of orchestras at The Ohio State University, and music director of The Orchestra of the Redeemer in New York, where she resides.
Tickets for the concert range from $42 to $62, inclusive of all fees. To purchase in advance, call 330 259 9651 or go to the box office, which is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tickets can also be purchased at YoungstownSymphony.com.
