West Library to Host Sales, Fundraising Events
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County will sell surplus items June 6-7 at its former West Branch library and hold a fundraising event there next month.
The West Branch closed April 30 to make way for construction of the new Michael Kusalaba Branch on that same site. Before demolishing the building, the library will hold a sale of books and surplus items at the site, 2815 Mahoning Ave.
The book sale, sponsored by Friends of the Library, will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 6-7, and June 8 from 8 to 11 a.m.
Surplus items to be offered for sale will include various types of items, such as adult and children’s shelving, tables and chairs, desk and swivel chairs, file cabinets and display racks.
The library will also hold a Farewell to West Library fundraising party at the branch from 4 to 9 p.m. July 14. The event will feature bands, a raffle, a memory wall, art, food and beer. Admission is $10 per ticket and those attending must be 21 years old or older.
