Westminster in Top 30% of Nation’s Colleges
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Wall Street Journal and Times Higher Education have ranked Westminster College No. 281 on their 2019 list of the county’s best colleges.
The ranking puts the college in New Wilmington, Pa., among the top 30% nationally. Schools are graded on resources, engagement, outcomes and environment.
“The deeply experiential, collaborative education students engage in here provides an effective platform for their success after graduation, with strong job placement and high entrance rates to graduate and professional schools,” said President Kathy Brittain Richardson in a statement. “We are pleased that the ranking recognizes what we’ve long known at Westminster.”
Westminster’s strongest area, she continued, was in outcomes, which makes up about 40% of the scoring. The category looks at graduation rates, academic reputation, graduate salaries and students’ ability to repay debt after graduation.
