Westminster Prof Honored by Chemical Society
Peter Smith, professor of chemistry and chair of the chemistry and biochemistry department at Westminster College, was recently presented with the Louis J. Sacco Award for Distinguished Service from the American Chemical Society Division of Professional Relations. Smith served in the leadership of the division from 2008-2018, first as treasurer and then in the chair succession. The mission of the Division of Professional Relations is to create inclusive communities, resources, and programming for the benefit of chemical professionals throughout their careers. Smith, who has been with Westminster since 2002, earned his undergraduate degree and Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee.
