Wheeler to Speak at Women Empowerment Event

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Tanisha Wheeler, regional director of the Minority Business Assistance Center at the Youngstown Business Incubator, will speak on empowering women entrepreneurs at a Dandelion Discussions event Aug. 30.

The event, which will focus on “failing forward in life and business,” will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at the YBI, 241 W. Federal St.

Lisa Resnick, founder and CEO of Dandelion-Inc, says the discussion will encourage the women in attendance to keep growing and moving forward despite experiencing failure.

“We are so excited to have Tanisha Wheeler talk to us about an often-overlooked topic, ‘failing forward,’” Resnick said. “So many times, we look at failure solely as a negative. The reality is that only we can allow failure to debilitate or stop us before we start. These events are opportunities for women to talk and share, to be open and vulnerable.”

Attendees will also receive information on how to scale their businesses, recover from setbacks and evolve as entrepreneurs.

“I have been instrumental in the growth of many businesses within the Valley, including working with Lisa in the development of Dandelion-Inc,” Wheeler said. “It is a full circle moment to be given the opportunity to speak to these powerful women and assist them in forging forward in business.”

The event is free for Dandelion-Inc members and $20 for nonmembers. Register HERE.

Dandelion-Inc is an organization designed to support, connect and develop women in business and women entrepreneurs. The organization hosts an ongoing event series to provide women with opportunities to network, grow their voices and learn from other successful women in business.
