Why Should an Employer Hire You?

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The next generation’s workforce is ready to get to work. Through their education, internships and even part-time work experience, students at Youngstown State University already have many skills in their toolbox.

As part of The Business Journal’s Brain Gain coverage, we tasked students from the Journalism Workshop class at YSU to interview students on campus from a number of majors and disciplines about their future plans. Topics ranged from what their ideal jobs would be, what they feel they bring to the table and what concerns them about transitioning from college to the workforce.

In this video, reporters give YSU students an opportunity to share why Mahoning Valley employers should hire them. Interviews were conducted by YSU journalism students Mia Albaugh, Austin Caroline, Kayla Duley, Kyle Wills, Cara Kalouris, Aaron Frantz, Jillian McIntosh and Betty Coss.
