Williamson College Honors Students For Leadership
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Williamson College of Business Administration presented “Outstanding Senior Leadership Awards” to 19 students at the WCBA Student Celebration held April 20 in the WCBA Atrium.
The award recognizes students in each major in the college of business for outstanding academic performance, leadership contributions and commitment to professional development. Each department in the WCBA chooses the students who will be recognized.
Troy Polis, an account executive here at The Business Journal was one of the recipients of the Senior Leadership Award for exemplary performance in academics and leadership.
“Troy contributes actively in class, which in turn helps other students feel confident in engaging as well. He helps get the conversation started,” said John Rossi, instructor of marketing and director of the Williamson College’s Professional Sales Center.
“Troy has shown a lot of promise working here over the past couple years and I’m excited to watch him develop further,” says Gail Hettrick, vice president of business development at The Business Journal.
Polis will become a full-time employee after Youngstown State University’s graduation ceremony May 6.
Award recipients have the traits and characteristics of being a leader in academics, as well as outside work and volunteer activities, added Rossi.
Drs. Bruce Keillor of marketing, Rangamohan Eunni of management, Tod Porter of economics and Peter Woodlock of Lariccia School of Finance, presented the awards to the following students by department:
- Marketing: Polis, Stefan Della Gatta, John Green and Chynna Thompson.
- Management: Emily Young and Gianna Centofanti in business administration; Davon Reed in management information systems; and Jordan Vigorito, Abdullah Khalil, Katina Landgraff and Stefane van Niekerk in human resource management.
- Economics: Daniel Belinky, David Wilaj and Samantha Anderson in business economics.
- Accounting & Finance: Rayann Gagliano, Megan Guliano and Stacy Wayland in accounting; and Simon Rafidi and George Ellis in finance.
